Long story short, things here move at such a pace that I cannot keep up with LJ anymore -- maybe later but right now I don't have the time. We're going into a special session on Thursday and if they don't get things wrapped up by June 30th I don't get paid and since they're still arguing if it's going to be one-year or two (seriously! not even numbers) it's not looking good.
My brother still hasn't heard from Knoxville about the firefighter position and he's moved up to my parents house and mom secretly loves it that her kids are all in one place and has me over many nights for dinner (in fact, I brought my wine over yesterday and forgot it so I'll have to stop by tomorrow). So we've been praying like crazy over that.
Finally, and most importantly, about a month ago my father was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Means that the air sacs within his lungs have been taken over by scar tissue making it very hard for him to get oxygen through his body. It's scary and it's chronic and his first doctor basically said "well, we've tried and there's nothing else we can do." so my father got a second opinion. This new doctor is very aggressive and has ordered a completely new battery of tests, including an open lung biopsy probably within the next few weeks where he'll have to stay in the hospital for a few nights.
I'm dealing with all that, and fighting to keep my career moving including law school and the LSATs.
Don't know when I'll be back. But I do find time to tweet, I can be found at:
