Secret Lab, Warehouse District -Monday After Classes

Sep 12, 2011 18:00

Tony was just going to spend the rest of the week in his lab, working on Warren's car. And not thinking about Poseidon or painting. Because it was perfectly healthy to just ignore everything weird about the last weekend in favour of work. Just ask anyone named Stark ever. Wait, maybe not that Stark at the clinic. Maybe ( Read more... )

Bobby had been given directions, and he'd followed those directions, and so therefore... he was not in the least bit lost.

Really.

Except for how he couldn't figure out where the entrance to this damn lab of Tony's was supposed to be. Damnit. Pulling out his phone, he sent a quick text:

ok. here. now where the hells the door?

It took a moment for Tony to shut off the welder and look over at the security systems. He grinned, shaking his head because he hadn't run into him over the weekend so it was safe.

Tapping out a few things, he had the door open before speaking over what could have been speakers in the walls. "Come to your doom, Drake."

...Well, that worked, then.

"Nice try," Bobby said, rolling his eyes as he stepped inside. "But it really needs some maniacal laughter to make it effective."

"I turned down AIM," Tony replied, pulling his goggles up so he looked slightly less strange.

Only slightly.

"Probably for the best," Bobby noted, looking around and totally not gawking in the least.

"It was the beekeeper costumes," Tony insisted, watching Bobby with amusement. "Welcome to the armory."

"Not slimming enough?" Bobby clucked in mock sympathy. "Pretty sweet setup you've got here. Superhero geek heaven."

"I'd hope so, I built it myself." Because that was totally plausible. Canon. God.

"We have the engine done, I'm working on the body at the moment." You could tell by the car parts that were scattered around. And the vague car shaped thing over there.

"I can lift things," Bobby volunteered. "Or paint. You... probably don't want me doing anything really complicated, though." He'd probably break the lab or something if he tried.

Tony gave him a pat on the arm. "Hey, I could teach you! Rhodey's pretty good at welding after hanging out with me long enough."

"Only if you're prepared to lose equipment in the learning process," Bobby warned. He was pretty sure the only reason he was still allowed in the Medlab at Xavier's was because he was the only one who could claim reasonable success at prying a certain furry blue scientist out of there.

It hated him omg, not the other way around!

"I wouldn't break anything on purpose!" So reassuring!

"I could ask you to keep your hands in your pockets," Tony warned. Because that's what any other Tony would demand at this point.

"But then I wouldn't be much help with the paint job," he pointed out reasonably.

"But you can't break things either," Tony pointed out. "And you can keep me from being a recluse like people think."
