Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Ash is a bad slow thinker and an excellent fast thinker. He works best in the moment and has developed some hand-to-hand combat skills and has learned to wield his guns and chainsaw hand pretty easily. It has been said by Bruce Campbell, the actor who played Ash, that Ash is inept at anything but fighting Deadites.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? I’ve been trying to come up with something for Ash that would be helpful or fitting and have come up with two ideas. The first idea is Infinite Ammo. Ash shoots his double-barreled shotgun thirty times without ever stopping to reload in the movie. I thought it would be neat if he had the ability for real whenever he uses his shotgun. If that’s not doable, then accelerated healing would be good. It would have certainly been helpful when he had to cut off his own hand when it went bad.
Weapons: Ash has a chainsaw that fits snugly over his nub of a right- hand, he also has a shotgun.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ash_WilliamsPoint in Canon: Towards the end of Army of Darkness, when he thinks he’s going back to his time.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: n/a.
Character Personality: At the start of The Evil Dead, Ash was a laidback kind of guy, an every man. He was an average guy, leading an average life. He might have even been a little bit on the timid side, truth be told. He was a good friend, a good brother, and a good boyfriend until the Deadites struck. Somewhere in the midst of it all, he gained confidence in himself though he became slightly insane due to all the trauma. You can’t be totally sane when you have to dismember your girlfriend and cut off your own hand because it’s gone evil.
Safe to say that he was a changed man by the end of Dead by Dawn and Army of Darkness. For all that confidence and leadership ability he’d gained, he became cynical and sarcastic, embittered by what had happened to him. It’s a drastic change from what he once was, but he coped in what manners he could. He’s sarcastic, good at giving one-liners, and a voice of encouragement when he needs to be. He’s also gotten braver out of necessity. You can’t fight off hordes of undead if you’re too busy hiding in a corner or covering your eyes.
Despite all that, Ash still wants to get back to his normal life, working at S-Mart and hanging out with his friends; the life he had before he ever laid eyes on that cabin or even knew what a Deadite was.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: n/a.
Character Plans: Ash will probably look at this as a vacation, even if the city crawls with monsters at night. He’ll try to get a job and live the life he had before, probably, but he might not be able to resist the draw of fighting the monsters later on.

First Person Sample [The NV comes on, showing a video of Ash. He does not look amused. He thought he was going home. Home, dammit! This wasn’t in the plans.] C’mon, at the most I had to be just... one word off.
One word.
And here I am in some crazy baseball diamond, in some crazy city. [He sighs, looking around.]
At least there ain’t any Deadites yet. There... aren’t any, right?
Third Person Sample Ash shifted his weight to one leg, arms resting at his sides as he looked around, took in the baseball diamond and all the shit before him that wasn’t anything like his home. He felt that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, his expression falling as he realized he must have screwed it up. Messed it all up. That wasn’t fair!
“No, no...” He took a step forward, spun around as if he half-expected all of this to just fade away. Maybe part of him did. “Ahh... c’mon! This wasn’t supposed to happen!”
His voice rose with the sinking realization. Had he messed up the words? Had he said them in the wrong order? Had he slept too long?
Why wasn’t he home?
He let out a frustrated groan, bringing up his good hand to rub over his face. He growled and paced. This was wrong. All wrong. He wanted to be back home, back at S-Mart. He’d done his part, he’d fought those Deadite bastards, risked his hide. This wasn’t fair!
The only positive, his brain chimed in, was the fact that he hadn’t seen any Deadites, that this looked modern. Maybe, maybe this wouldn’t be so bad. Yeah. Yeah, maybe so. He took in a steadying breath before he started to walk. Didn’t want to hang out at a baseball diamond all day. Had to see what the rest of the city had to offer. His luck? It’d be crawling with Deadites.
