So what is it that I would like in a wife?
I've been thinking about the possibity of being with someone who spoke Chinese fluently. That would be great, wouldn't it, to have my children brought up speaking the ancestral language of their father. And possibly the most spoken language in the world.
Previously, I had dismissed just such a possibility. I now live in a Western world, and my own command of Chinese is laughable. And more importantly, it has probably been a decade since I found myself attracted to a Chinese girl. It's not something I'm making a statement about, or something I take pride in... It's just how things have turned out.
But meeting that Chinese-speaking German girl, and thinking how well we got along in that short 10 minutes, gave me an outlook which I never thought possible. And to top it off, she's also a dancer!
So I guess a few of the more easily classifiable traits which I find desirable are:
-Christian
-dancer
-Mandarin speaker
Although far from what most people would look for in marriage, I feel that these qualities would contribute to quite a happy marriage. Except that I don't actually know anyone who fits that description. Not even Chinese ones...!
