On Goldsickle's rather unfortunately-titled thread "If You're Malaysian, You Automatically Suck":
The content of the initial post is actually quite reasonable, and I can imagine the frustration involved. I would not assume that what built up to the rant was only a response from just one person, and as far as I see he did not infer such a thing.
However, the problem with this post that is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way is, mainly, the title itself, which is a direct insult when taken out of context. Very bad move - it would work to grab attention, but conditions people to think negatively about the post AND the poster even before they click on the link. Second, he apparently generalises his fellow countrymen based on his personal experiences, and does not readily see the other side of the coin. And - I'm sorry - harping on others' language skills doesn't help you make your point.
1. Is the thread offending? Yes, somewhat.
2. Is it lock-worthy? No, because of the constructive direction this discussion has taken, for which I am infinitely thankful for.
