Well, things haven't been going so smoothly. Steel came home on Thursday from his surgery and was doing fairly well. His antibiotics gave him the runs so we took him off of them. This morning we went and saw Waylon for the first time and when we got home, Steelie wasn't doing too well. He had rubbed his staples out of his chin. He had a huge gap in the incision and you could see his jaw bone and teeth. He had also rubbed his skin raw. When we looked in his mouth, the split in his jaw/gums was almost 3 fingers wide! Like, his tongue was sitting between his teeth! We freaked and called our vet but he wasn't available. We had to get another vet to come out. She called our vet and told him that Steel needed to go back to the clinic. So we loaded him up and drove him back over. They prepped him for surgery and put him back under. So they called us about 3 hours ago and said that he was awake and up in his stall. They are going to keep him for (hopefully!) another two days at least. They wired and screwed his jaw together and put wires across his teeth and re-sutured his chin.

Here are some pictures... they are graphic so I'm going to link them instead of posting them.
The first set is from when we first visited him after the initial surgery when everything was together neatly. The second set is from today when we found his jaw the way it was and while we were waiting for the vet.

How we found him with the staples coming out...

Please keep Steelie in your thoughts. He needs it right now.
