I for one am glad the cop prevented you from being clipped by a passing car while you filled the tank.
You should have one of those emergency triangles with the reflective tape. I have one and it is pretty useful, even if you only need it once.
You know how they have those emergency battery jumpers that you can have in your trunk that are essentially jumper cables that don't need a second car? When we all have electric cars, will we be carrying jumpers for those too. Like the one-time-use cell-phone battery boosters. How dangerous would THAT be!

I am sure you know this, but I will write this for the sake of all the other drivers out there:
PLEASE, do not carry gasoline in your car.
Gasoline is the worst chemical that most of us will ever come in contact with [worse than bleach, CLR, etc]. It will give you cancer if you hang around it long enough. Its fumes will make you nauseous and dizzy. It will dissolve the carpet in your trunk. It will gather static electricity and explode. Do not fuck with gasoline.
Having an empty gascan is not a bad idea, but be careful with any container that once held gasoline. It can still be a source of deadly fumes.

you are cute, and also very right! I was just thinking to have it so i wouldnt have to have the golden girls convince some nonenglish speaking mechanic to let me borrow his. I would also clean it out before i put it back in my car. but yes, all yall out there, hal is onto something with this one

i was thinking about it, and how could you clean it? you can't very well put soap and water in there: you would seriously mess up your engine. or would you? can you?
Re: blah blah blah i bore myselfhoodlumqSeptember 21 2005, 22:18:22 UTC
i would just rinse it out with water. That would get most of anything that would be bad out of the can. And that would dry up in time anyway, plus the tiny amount of water that might be in it would never hurt a car
