how you get tuberculosis?

i believe it is air born. Most of the time you see cases of it in areas of poverty, also it is common for foreigners to bring it over. When i was in undergrad one of our TA's for chemistry had it (he was from india and brought the damn disease with him) and the whole friggin school of engineering and science had to be tested. If your immune system is built up pretty strong, you most likely wont catch it even if you are in close contact with some one who does have it. this is why it is more commonly seen in poverty stricken areas. It attacks the lungs and throat normally, and that is why it is so spreadable, but if it attacks your kidneys or spine, which are other common places for it to infect, then it is not contagious
