6x19 "Mommy Dearest" Tag Fic Recs!
Hello! I'm hoodie_time's Guest Reccer for August! For my first sec of recommendations, I wanted to focus on 6x19 "Mommy Dearest" tags; it's one of my favorite episodes in S6 and what with the phoenix ash, the Jefferson Starships, the neck-biting, and the celestial angst, what's not to love? :P Outside of their individual merits (and they have many) what I particularly liked about these fics was that taken together, they take one episode and turn out three very different, equally enticing outcomes.

Reccer’s comments: Slickest fever I've read recently, with the added paranoia that comes with potential Jefferson Starshipdom. Sam and Bobby's concern is palpable. This fic cracks jokes the entire time it's turning your stomach, which is very Dean indeed.

Reccer’s comments: As evinced by all of my (?)s, glorious_spoon is difficult to classify! Her Dean kicks ass and takes names, even as he's about to go up in flames--both literally and figuratively. The prose lends itself well to this fic's exploration of what might go wrong when you take a chance on something supernatural. One shell, one ounce of whiskey--down the hatch. ;)

Summary: While Cas may have healed Dean from the Mother's bite, some aftereffects remain.
Reccer’s comments: This one's lighter in tone than the previous two (think eating food and sleepy!Dean, and sleepy!Dean, and did I mention sleepy!Dean?) but no less poignant. Because in SPN you can't get your sleep without eventually having to wake up and face the music all over again. In this fic, nwhepcat builds on Eve's impersonation of Mary, and the emotions that brings to the surface. (Thank you to jaimeykay and de_nugis on spnstoryfinders, who both recced me this one!)
