I had this done a while ago but I had to ask a few questions about some of the more slurred Kansai-ben employed in this song. Man, I'm on a translating roll tonight! I'm thinking of doing all of FTO considering that I've already done Sukiyanen, Osaka, Osaka Romanesque, Oh!ENKA, and
boyz_kure has already done a really nice translation of Osaka Rainy Blues, but if the kansai ben is as crazy as it was in here it'll take me a while. Anyway, enjoy this one as well as this song conjures up the festivity and testosterone charged atmosphere present in Danjiri Matsuri.
About the text; I tend to equate Kansai-ben with an American southern accent even though the latter has a lot of (unreasonable) negative connotations. Guys, it's possible to be classy and have a southern accent! Anyway, since a lot of this song is in majorly Kansai dialect I chose to represent this through some good old southern twang.
I'm too tired to upload a file along with this because I just did it for the last song :(

(Yasu) Kishiwada(1) bred since my parent's generation, once each year a it's a man's stage
Looking at the Danjuri festival(2) with ample fighting spirit, the voices of the festival drums multiply
Hey, hey, let's begin!
(Yoko) Brush 'side the gloom of this square, transient world, today you needn't hold back
Bro, Sis, Pap n' Mam, we met here 'cause of karma from a previous life
Hey, hey, come and lean on me
(Hina) Fireworks go up with a boom, my heart starts a-dancing s'well
Each one of us has problems, but for the time being leave it be
Funky Town Osaka come on over without putting on airs
In a festival, in life, the fools win
Funky Town Osaka come on over without hesitation
If you're the same fools as us, to not have dreams is to lose
(Ohkura) Surrounded in the middle of a surging crowd in the street, I can see that girl with a worried face
If you get scared here you throw away your manhood, it's a once in a lifetime hikimawashi(3)
Brace yourself here, where to next?
(Ryo) Year after year it's a hard life, even my heart is worn thin
Little by little let's live with vitality, let's live affectionately
Funky Town Osaka, y'all incomplete folks better watch out
If ya start runnin' don't you stop 'til the very end
Funky Town Osaka, y'all sincere folks come on over
You'll need a lotta pennies and a alotta guts
(Subaru) Funky Town Osaka, y'all incomplete folks better watch out
If ya start runnin' don't you stop 'til the very end
Funky Town Osaka, y'all sincere folks come on over
You'll need a lotta pennies and a alotta guts
(Maru) Funky Town Osaka come on over without putting on airs
In a festival, in life, the fools win
Funky Town Osaka come on over without hesitation
If you're the same fools as us, to not have dreams is to lose
(1)(2)(3) I can kill all three birds with one stone! \(^0^)/
Kishiwada is a city in Osaka which is incidentally the home of the Danjiri Festival. This festival has roots back 400 years ago and was started to pray for good harvest (like most festivals in the world) on the 14th and 15th of September. It's a festival in the truest sense because the usually off limits Kishiwada castle was even opened up to the commoners to parade floats around and feuding lords were even said to drop everything and party. The floats are made out of wood and heavily adorned and are held by men of the neighborhood. Each neighborhood gets one and if they confront a rival neighborhood while carrying their around they compete to ram the floats into each other, so it's sometimes called the "fighting festival", hence the "fighting spirit." Yamahikimawashi I believe is just the act of carrying around these floats, hence the need to "brace yourself" and asking "where to next?"
Some excellent photos of the festival are found
