I need to write more

So to get the ball rolling, I've got a meme!

Ganked from karaokegal

1.) Look up ten of your favorite films on IMDB.
2.) Go to "trivia" and pick out the most interesting fact about each film.
3.) Copy + paste!
4.) Comment if you like

So, my ten movies with their trivia! All of these have been a favorite at SOME point in my life, not necessarily now. I haven't seen many adult movies lately, so my brain has gotten somewhat skewed.

1. Casablanca
Producer Hal B. Wallis nearly made the character Sam a female. Hazel ScottLena Horne, and Ella Fitzgerald were considered for the role. How different that would've been!

2. The Princess Bride
The fencing masters that Inigo and Westley talk about studying are all real fencing masters from the 14th to 16th centuries (although the styles of fighting they are using have little to do with what those masters actually taught). Cool!

3. Fantasia
The animators secretly modeled elements of the Sorcerer in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" on their boss, Walt Disney. The raised eyebrow was regarded as a dead giveaway. I think I knew this, but I'm not sure. Heard a lot of "making fun" of Disney sort of things related to his movies.

4. The Maltese Falcon
Two "Maltese Falcons" were used for the film because Humphrey Bogart dropped the original during shooting. The original falcon is on display in the movie museum at Warner Bros. studios; its tail feathers are visibly dented from Bogey's flub sixty years ago.

5. Moulin Rouge
The owner of the Moulin Rouge was actually Charles Zidler. His name was changed to "Harold" so it could replace "Harry Winston" in Satine's performance of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend".

6. The Empire Strikes Back
In the asteroid scene, one of the asteroids is actually a shoe. The rumor is that George Lucas asked the SFX people to redo the scene so many times that they got annoyed and one of them threw in their shoe. Funny if true! And I believe it could be.

7. Raiders of the Lost Ark
The scene where Indy threatens to blow up the Ark with a bazooka as it is being carried through a canyon was filmed in the same canyon in Tunisia used in Star Wars (1977) when R2-D2 was zapped and stolen by Jawas.

8. Pulp Fiction
The shot of Vincent plunging the syringe into Mia's chest was filmed by having John Travolta pull the needle out, then running the film backwards. I always wondered how they did that.

9. Monty Python's Life of Brian
The only character to appear in all four Python films (And Now for Something Completely Different (1971), Monty Python and the Holy Grail(1975), The Meaning of Life (1983) and this one) is God.  Go God!

10. Brazil
The odd little bubble-topped car that Sam drives is a 3 wheeled, two stroke single cylinder Messerschmitt KR200 "Kabinroller" (covered scooter) built in Germany in the late 1950's and up until 1964. Gah, it was hard to pick just one for this, but this is one I had never heard before.

While coming up with this list, I was chatting with sarahetc to help me come up with movies (yes, I'm that pathetic right now) and she mentioned a few movies that I've never seen that are somewhat iconic, including "Goonies." In the comments, name some movies you think I should absolutely have seen, and I'll tell you if I have. I bet you'll be surprised at how many I've missed!
