Harry,

Can you believe this?? You've received the prophet this morning right? Oh, who am I kidding, you never read the news without me shoving it down your throat - and with you at Hogwarts, too! Although, I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised - I work at the head of the Ministry and yet somehow with this little tidbit of information it seems to have escaped them that maybe they should have let me know what they were planning before screaming it out to the public! This madness! Do you even know how many owls I received today alone in complaints addressed directly to me? I don't even get owls from the public! Let alone about complaints about things that I'm not doing! And yet here they are, lining up on my desk, about how I should have done a bit more research on the topic - or watched that of the other departments - before just letting them go and do this! As if! If this had been in my hands--honestly, Harry, what do they think they're doing ( ... )

Harry was woken suddenly by a rather irate little owl tapping on his forehead. "Ow! Gerroff me!" He muttered and then swore violently in Parslemouth as the bird dropped the note on his head (poking him with a corner in one eye) and then took off out the window he'd left open for Hedwig. Flix laughed in a slithery tone from his small aquarium and Harry looked at him, livid, as he put his glasses on and rubbed the sore spot on his head. "You can shut up, too - or I'll let Hedwig's friends have a nice little snack." he threatened in the spits and hisses that had gotten easier to the young man over the years. He read Hermione's note, very confused, and nodded in agreement at her assertion that he never read the paper these days. Shrugging, he got up from bed and wrote a quick note in reponse:

Hermione ( ... )

Staring at the owl back in indignation - as if she didn't already have enough people either confused or angry at all that was going on; she threw an irate glare at the stack of owls waiting to be replied to with the usual No, I really had nothing to do this this and I have just as much knowledge about what's going on as you do, and for that I am deeply sorry and as soon as I find out who is responsible for this mess I will kill them personally - she started tapping her quill against her desk in annoyance because, really, she didn't need Harry, the person she should be able to vent off to, to ask her what was going on as well - she was in no mood to explain anything! Couldn't he check the damn paper himself?

Harry,

Would it kill you to get up and look at the prophet? Honestly. Maybe you have the time to take the odd nap during the day here and there but, dear god, clearly I don't have said luxury given that my desk is swarming with owls just as indignant over this mess as I am, and, really, that's on top of trying to figure out ( ... )

This time Harry was waiting for the Hedwig's return, his sleep having officially been ruined. "Bloody bat of a woman." He said to the bird as she clicked disapprovingly at his scowl. "I know, I know, on her side. Always." He rolled his eyes and read the letter she'd sent back and the article along with it. This is what had her all up in the air? Seemed like a good time to him. He wrote back:

Harry,

I was wondering if I was going to hear from you after our run in! No matter, I'm sure the DADA position has been taking up much of your free time! Can you believe how time flies...

I would love to come up on Saturday, that would be wonderful! I've been sorting out the shop all week, trying to sort things out for your future students!

Is there anything you need me to bring? I cannot wait to see you!

Vati

Parvati -
So you'll be there? Can't wait. haven't heard back from anyone else yet, just Hermione, but she'll be there too. If you want to bring anything, make it of the drinking sort as I'm not sure the house elves will provide any mead or beer, but it's always welcome at dinner.
See you Saturday,
Harry

Neville stood outside on the terrace of his apartment, relaxing when he saw the owl heading his way. He smiled, curious, as most owls took his mail to the bottom floor and deposited their letters with the rest of the tenants' post. Few of them bothered bringing his mail directly to him on the top floor.

Smiling, he walked inside and took a pen from his desk and a clean sheet of paper. It was good to hear from Harry.

Congratulations on your new position! About time, old man! I'm certain I had a few galleons placed on a wager when you'd finally take the DADA position, although I recall my guess being closer to 2010.

Count me in for dinner Saturday. I'm ashamed to say how long its been since I've seen some of our brethren. I guess you read The Prophet today? I can't believe it's been ten years.

It was good to get your post. "Neville Longbottom and something about Herbology". I'm fairly certain someone will etch that onto my tombstone...

Cheers,
Neville

Neville-
Thanks! You and Hermione both said the same thing! Though I think she bet under, as she only seemed a bit surprised that it'd taken me this long to want to do it.

Can't wait to see you Saturday - seems the whole lot of us will be there, Spinnet, Wood, Hermione, the Twins... the list goes on. Should be a right fun time!

Hope the research and the plants are going all right, you might just have to come speak to classes this fall - imagine that, a celebrity coming to speak to my classes!

Harry, old bean, Georgie and I would simply be DELIGHTED to attend your little soiree at the castle and we'll be there with bells on (not to mention very loud and obnoxious fireworks guaranteed to send old Filch right round the bend!)

Hugs and kisses,
F & G

Guys,
Sounds great - be sure to bring out some hat tricks! Never a dull moment, knew I did the right thing asking you two to join.

Just what we all needed.
See you then,
Harry

Harry,
Do I have to call you 'Professor' now? Congratulations, mate! I'd love to come up on Saturday! It has been too long. Can I bring anything? We should get together and play a bit of Quidditch sometime.

Cheers,
Charlie

Charlie-
I had to laugh out loud when I read that - imagine you calling me Professor?!

Feel free to bring anything you like, but the food should all be taken care of by the elves here - drinks are, of course, always welcome! If they had they're way we'd all be floating around in pumpkin juice!

Love the Quidditch idea, maybe we can pick a day to do a bit of an informal match? We'll have to talk to everyone on Saturday. See you then!
Harry
