Remus had woken and prepared himself for the day, gathered his various lists, and put on a pair of decent royal blue robes. Just as he was tying his shoes, Harry knocked at the door and came in.
"Hullo, Harry," he said. "Ready for a day in the city?"
It had been a while since Remus had been to London and he was looking forward to a day in the city, even though shopping wasn't really his forte. He was happy to have company.
"Professor." Harry said by way of hello. "You have stuff to take with you? Should I have stuff?" His eyes traveled to the lists that Lupin seemed to be bringing with him. "I don't have all that much in mind - of course, I don't know quite what I'm doing and when I last taught anything I didn't have the luxury of books and lesson plans. I'm a bit over my head I think." Harry shrugged with an awkward exhale-sort-of-laugh.
"Ah, well, I have a few errands to do and I didn't want to forget anything. I don't go into London often, so when I do, I try to get everything I need," he replied.
"I'm not sure you'd need anything, unless you're planning on restocking for the Defense classroom," he went on. "I know I need a few things for my own desk, like quills, ink, parchment, a measure, and so forth..."
He led Harry out the door and downstairs onto the grounds. "Besides, there's time for going over lesson plans once we get there. Perhaps over a good lunch at the Leaky Cauldron or some other cafe in town, where we can relax and spread out some books."
Harry nodded to everything Lupin said - the things he listed out off the top of his head as well as his suggestion of lunch - and tried to keep some of them in mind for his own shopping. The lists ran through his memory like in a sieve, though, and he could not hold on to it.
"Lunch sounds great. I only grabbed a tea this morning before I headed back to the library, this time working on that damned Tournament - trying to figure out who's behind it all - and lost track of the time. I've been up early these days, don't sleep much." Harry mumbled the last part, not wanting to worry Remus, who still tended to take a fatherly approach with the younger wizard.
"The Cauldron's fine, haven't there in ages, and I've got to stop at Gringotts as well, is that all right?"
