Yearh.... finally watched the thing.
So... hmm.... on Takatora side, suddenly there was a plot thing that gonna again have some effect on my currenly on hiatus post seriesfic set. Damn. But then again, seeing that the Kureshimas have this odd ability to survive at all costs... I guess I'll have a way to work around it.
Same with Kaito's side, tho for now I didnt have plans to write sbout him.
That aside, the Gaiden was okay. Only downside to it that if you're the kind of fan writer who really took seriously about canon details, you tend to want to go back to fix your older fics to include such new canon details. Sure, one can just paste AU label on it... but since most of the time my fics would continue on the same headcanon universe, its just out of place if you end up not getting all the timeline and canon straightened out. If there was no mention of the stuff or vague description had been used in past works, it din matter much. Problem when there WAS. Ah well, worry about that later.
Overall, the Gaiden had some good stuff. There more scenes with Sid, Yoko had a bit more action... also a hint on her crush on Kaito, and random Ryoma-Taka-Touka back story. Niisan being nice as usual... and at least now, there's more extra info as to the origin of Yomotsuheguri. Cos it does bother when that lockseed came out of nowhere. But now we have Apple-taboo n Dragonfruit-proto being the more unstable predessessor to Yomotsuheguri.
Also, kinda amusing to see Shapur really being a Yuta insert, even up to that pattissier stuff! And that interaction between Shapur and Kaito was nice. It made it even more sad considering what you know would happen later.
Gonna repost this on tumblr later, cos now with the weird updates I cant even reblog or post anything thru my mobile device. Irony, really.
