Bima Satria Garuda

So I start to watch Bima Satria Garuda, because I was curious. First ep's here.

First impression... not bad. Then again, considering the amount of 'fairy tale' magical series-genred Indonesian productions in the past I have no doubt they could pull the series off with the SFX. There were hints of Ryuki, Black, Gokaiger, Decade themes and plotline that I could detect, but still mostly have the typical Indonesian feel/style to it.

Not saying that is bad... but some of the camera styles do need to go. Like some of the dramatic shots Indonesian productions often do. But so far, for a first episode... it's really okay. Some of the cast acting are still so awkward and scene edits a bit choppy in some parts. Regardless, for a kids show.. it wasn't too far from an average Japanese toku standards.

The villains had a feel of Showa baddies especially... while the pawn goonies felt like a cross between colourful Shocker pawns and Heisei monsters. The intro with the researchers had a feel of Ultra Galaxy for some reason... or maybe it's just me. XD. Not sure how much IshiPro had influence in the plot writing aside from supplying the hero suit and villains character suits, but there should still be a bit of elements from the Indonesian script writers. Though I hope this won't turn into a typical Indonesia drama plot. The school setting with the girl kinda gave that feel tho.
