Went off to watch Dark Knight with zim this morning and later teman her buy fan...
At which I am not amused.
Really, it's not as 'dark' as I heard it would be. Or I'm putting the standard high. This movie made Joss Whedon and his other partner looked good at making darker themed series/movies. Tell the truth in the whole movie, the only scene that trully got me moved... was the last part of the movie where Batman made the choice to assume the bad person role and asked Jim to cover the fact that Harvey go kablooey evil and made HIM the hero. And all that shit. Yeah, that part did made me cry... because the reality sucks. Other than that... the whole thing was... heh. It's not a movie that I would wanna watch again and again later. And yes, I still loved Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns. And I can't help making the head crab zombies joke because I was totally disenchanted by this movie.
Scarecrow's reappearance at the start was wasted... and Harvey's 'evilness' was too downplayed. And as much as I disliked Batman Forever, at least Two-face in that movie was more convincing. Okayla... this DK's Two-face's makeup was good but aside of that, I was left asking... was this all you can do? Lame. And he just died like that. Pfft. And after watching this version of Joker, I had to wonder... what's so "excessively evil" about it that the actor go kill himself? Really... I really don't get it. The scenes involving Joker in the movies was not even "that" pure evil to the point that it's "scary". And the Joker in a nurse uniform made me go buh. And the Harvey-Joker, Joker-Batman dialogue scenes ARE GAY. And all those threatening talks with his victims telling them how he got his scars and poking his knife in their mouth was LAME. So, sorry my dear late Heath Ledger. I don't think you made a really convincing Joker. At least to ME. Oh yeah... you do make him psychotic but Jack Nicholson's Joker was still better than yours. And he's still alive and acting! Heck, even Mark Hamill did him better than you... even though he's just voicing the character.
Okay... maybe it's not Heath's fault alone. The character was not fleshed out that well either. I mean in Batman, we KNOW how Jack Napier and Bruce Wayne were related and how Batman and Joker also related to each other. The 'I created the you now because of my past actions' and the 'how ironically I caused yourself to change into another freak due to some freak accident'. But in this DK, we know NOTHING at how this Joker came about. We just suddenly get this psychotic guy terrorizing people. So yeah. Not scary! I rather watch the Shield... and I know I don't like that series.
And that part of the love interest Rachel Hewes? On what happened to her with regards of her relation to Harvey and Bruce? It's just SCREAMING Mary Jane X Spidey X whoever that guys name I forgot dilemma. Sorry... but I felt it like that.
So yeah... I was overcritical. But Batman was one of the old DC fandom of mine that I still love. Hmmm... I gonna go rewatch the old movies just because. And the bulky batmobile made me think of that Half Life: Full Life Consequences' "motorcycle".
And lastly. "Slaughter is the best medicine" IS SO LAME!
Yeah... I don't get the hype. The "darkness" was so overhyped imo.
And on way back home... I ended up sleeping most of the time in the bus until I tak sedar terlajak sampai KJ LRT. I was like whoa! Most of the time I slept in the T623 bus from Carrefour or Sunway... I always woke up when the bus was still about leaving the Federal Highway. But this time... wonder if the sun was THAT hot to the point that it made me sleep so lena. XO
