January Talking Meme: Ducks vs. Beavers
Part of the January Talking Meme, still plenty of room for prompts. Otherwise, I might just have to start talking about whatever I want to talk about, and that could be disastrous.
Anyway, dlgood asked me what I think of the infamous OSU Ducks and U of O Beavers. No, got that around the wrong way: OSU Beavers and U of O Ducks. What I think is as follows:
1. While we can all agree that the duck has its merits, the beaver, by dint of its incredible construction skills, is obviously superior.
2. However, as the Ducks' colors are green and yellow and the Beavers' are black and orange, the Ducks clearly win the fashion race.
3. I really feel sorry for the Beavers cheerleaders. Can you imagine all the drunken frat-boy single-entendres that get slung upon them by Ducks fans?
4. I don't know a thing about football. Nor do I care.
5. Overall, I'm glad I'm a PSU Viking. It gives me a handy way out of these conversations when Civil War time strikes Oregon every year. Our football team may suck, but my school, right or wrong. Right?
