Fat lot of good it does me. No friggin' WB in Alaska. Fortunately, I do have a source for tapes, but I don't get to enjoy the season the way others do. I've given up on not being spoiled, btw, so don't worry

I was actually thinking of making Dawn and Connor brother and sister, anyway.Theoretically possible. On a totally superficial level, she kinda looks like she could be. And you wouldn't be the first writer who's posited such. There are any number of ways you could go about doing it

And, of course, I'd have to change the relationship between Dawn and Connor to Just Good Friends rather than Might Be Lovers in order to avoid the Squick Factor. That wouldn't be much of a problem.
But yes, that's kind of what I was thinking. Rather than essentially cloning Buffy (which is kind of what it sounds like they did, only Dawn *isn't* Buffy's clone), the Brotherhood took a life already beginning--a zygote in Buffy's womb--and "gestated" it in the energy of the Key until the two were inseparable. Easier all around, if you get around the time difficulty.
Besides, they really do look quite a bit alike, with the brown hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. Plus, they're both extremely pretty. Aside from all that, can't you just *see* the look on Spike's face when he finds out that Dawn is Angel's daughter?

The thing is, I gather you just need something plausible to explain how it's possible, because once you do, you have so many opportunities for wackiness to ensue. Just need enough metaphysics to satisfy the characters, and get your story rolling. Like a note that Buffy wouldn't have been able to save the world from ADAM if she were 7 months pregnant and Faith were still incapacitated - thus helping Buffy come to terms with missing out on the essential experience of motherhood.
Aside from all that, can't you just *see* the look on Spike's face when he finds out that Dawn is Angel's daughter?Oh yeah. There's really just so much mileage you can get out of that set up, with Spike (and Xander if you have him around) having to deal with their antagonism and grudging respect toward Angel - all the while being so enthralled with Dawn and Buffy. Plus the potential of Dawn/Angel dynamics. And really, wonderful Dawn and Conner bonding scenes need not be romantic or sexual in nature

Gah. I wrote it as Conner when his name is "Connor". I am so ashamed. You could even work in backstory from the "Dawn and the Dead" series if you wished... All this excitement, and I don't even have clue one on what the story would cover.

I'd really pitty Dawn if that were the case... having that 'guy' as a father... Poor poor girl... I wouldn't wish that kind of fate on my worst enemy, and I'm sure, neither would Spike...
(personally I'm more a fan of the Dawn is 'Buffy and Spike's daughter'-faction or if I really have to... Dawn as Buffy and Faiths daughter. (just go with it, it really makes sense, really)
