*happy sigh*
This rate of updating I can bear. Can you keep it? ;)

I like Groves here very much. It's a nice touch that he was able to tell Jip something what he didn't know about his Captain.

The farewell of the deads was very touching, as their stories.

And you have no idea how a relief it is, to see Cat o'Nine alive and furious! I worried about her.

You know, a friend of mine said me recently that cliffangers should be considered penal acts, eh? I'll consider accepting her argument if it means another years... *sits down and with happy and hopeful grin starts the awaiting*

Groves' stock went so over the top up that I can' tell you. What a sweet thing for him to share with the tiny pirate==men can be kind sometimes and I know it's all boy, rite of passage etc, just not my deal. Love what Jip had to say about Jack's take on courage...sounds just exactly totally completely Jack. Yeah...

and Norrington, much as I adore him, cannot 'win' can not must not please?

Ah yes! How I could to not mention it! I can adore Jack and want to hug him for his courage but I utterly love him to bits for this... for this. Many have courage, but this is uniquely Jacky.

Yes, Jack's brand of courage is as unique as everything else about the man. I'm happy you see that, too.

Awww! Thank you! I'm delighted you like my dear Groves. He only gets more wonderful every time he shows up on my pages. He's a light in all the darkness of this story. As for Jack's definition of courage, yes, that seems to me entirely how Jack acts in the movies--he'd really rather not have to be courageous, thank you very much. But in the end, no one is braver when he has to be.

I adore Norrington, too. In fact I have realized that in spite of all my intentions to the contrary, the man has become my protagonist. *shrug* What do I know about how this story should be written? The characters have entirely run away with it, and I'm just along for the ride.

I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up quite this rate of speed! These two chapters started out as one and had to be split :D But I do hope it's not years! I know I deserve the "rat" at the end of my name for that cliffhanger.

Groves is really so much fun to write. I'm glad you enjoyed his storytelling.

The farewell to the dead felt necessary to me--I wanted to mourn my valiant crew even though I killed them for my sport.

Cat O' Nine had to survive! She's too much fun to write. Your icon is perfect!

Thank you so much for such delicious comments.

But I like rats. Just forget for a moment that a feline-souled creature says it. ;)

She's one of jewels of the fandom in general, not only of your fics, for me. She's just necessary. I'm glad that you like my innocent kitty. ;)

And talking about necessary elements, I'm also very glad that you write The Pearl's crew as singing by work. I love shanties and I feel it's somehow vaguely lacking in the movie, for me.

I'm delighted you like my crazy pirate kitty!

If it's singing you like, you'll enjoy the next chapter :D There really weren't any shanties in the movies unless you count Elizabeth's "A Pirate's Life For Me" song.
