I wish I could have a mind for sci-fi like I do with fantasy. I just have a harder time getting absorbed into such worlds. Robots, spaceships etc. The technobabble is more confusing than the magicbabble. Not that I don't like sci-fi (I do like some of the Gundam series and a little Star Trek), just saying that it's harder for me to absorb than fantasy. ESPECIALLY if it's a novel.
I'm starting Ender's Game right now for my sci-fi class. Dunno what it's like yet but my professor said that it's much easier to understand/read than Dune. I liked Dune all right, especially the plot but I didn't like how everyone was all super strong and perfect and awesome. I didn't give a crap about any of them, except for maybe Jessica. And Duncan Idaho has a cool name even though he only lived for a few pages (I know he gets resurrected in the next book or something though).
Anywayyy...I finished the Joy Luck Club film and clipped out some scenes to use on my Speech paper. I'm glad the paper is only 5 pages long. I would much rather do an analysis on the film now though. :'D
Uhhh...still very worried about my sci-fi/fantasy paperstoryfic thing. There's no set structure or anything like how many pages. My professor said the average her students turn in for the creative writing piece is 40 pages. I have no idea if that is a lot or not for a story...I think I can guesstimate the fic ending with Rhys retrieving the Sacred Ashes. Assuming that I can actually write the damn thing.
Gonna read Ender's Game and then go to bed. Nightyyy.
