Personality: Rei has quite a quick temper, and is certainly not slow to respond to situations. She can seem very snobbish at times, letting her ego get in her way. She is incredibly independent, and very aggressive. However, she is also very energetic, sympathetic, and fair. She can easily switch from one side to the other. She is both shy and outgoing. She is considerate of other people's feelings, yet is strict with herself and those close to her. She sometimes seems to have two personalities: one for those on the "outside" and one for those on the "inside."
Abilities/Strengths:
Rei was a miko at Hikawa Shrine, and has some powers that the other senshi do not. She has heightened spirituality, as well as some psychic ability. She is sometimes given unproted premonitions. She is able to do fire readings and is able to dispel evil spirits, as well as feel their presence.
As Sailor Mars, she is given special attacks.
Fire Soul - Sailor Mars shot a fireball from her fingertips.
Fire Soul Bird - A more powerful version of Fire Soul that was in the shape of a phoenix.
Burning Mandala - Sailor Mars' upgraded attack, in which she shot rings of flame at her enemies.
Mars Snake Fire - Sailor Mars created a snake out of fire that attacked her opponent. Sailor Mars crosses her hands under her chin and a firey snake rises above her head.
Mars Flame Sniper - Sailor Mars fired a flame arrow at her enemies. She holds an arrow made of fire between her arms, draws it back, and shoots it at the enemy.
Weaknesses: Rei has an extremely difficult time trusting people, even her fellow senshi. She also tends to rely too much on herself. She despises karaoke and television. Rei's temper is what gets her into the most trouble, though. She has a short fuse, and even though she has gotten better with it, sometimes, the littlest things ser her off.
Notable Possessions:
Crystal Change Rod: This is Rei's transformation item. It allows her to transform into Sailormars.
Ofuda (Anti-Evil scrolls): Rei has her ofuda before becoming a senshi. She can use them as Rei or as Sailor Mars. She holds the scroll and yells, "Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen. Akuryou Taisan!" She then throws the scroll at the target, disentegrating the enemy.
Mars Crystal: It allows Rei to transform into Sailor Mars using "Mars Crystal Power, Make Up!" It is given to her by her two pet crows and guardians, Phobos and Deimos.
Wristwatch Communication Device: Sailor Mars and the other senshi wear wristwatch-type communication devices which allow them to speak with each other.
Mars Arrow: It is used to perform "Mars Flame Sniper!" Anti-evil charms are attached to it, and its tail is of flame.
