So... the destruction of much of New Orleans, means the destruction of the old fashioned binge, strip and generally make a fool of yourself Mardi Gras atmosphere. Does this mean the death of the "Girls Gone Wild" francise... because we really lost a cultural touchstone with that one?
Because honestly, that's what we're going to be remembered for in the future when anthropologists try to explain what American culture was all about. That and "Left Behind" novels.
And you know, what Marshall McCluhan said about the mass media 30 years ago still holds up, yet nobody younger than a certain age even knows who he is.
And in the end, that says a lot.

(EDIT: But shit, Canada put McCluhan on a stamp. And "the medium is the message", so go figure it out. I can't.)
