The Otaku Reflects...

My Dearest "Bleach,"

I faithfully read the fan-translated pages of your epic and tirelessly stretched-out manga every week. It's great. I've grown very attached to all these well-written and beautifully illustrated characters. I can even deal with your creator completely trolling the recent chapters. That's cool.

But what's up with the anime? The repetitive, pedantic musical score, weak filler episodes and wealth of "quality" animation is enough to make any loyal otaku bust out their DVDs of Samurai Champloo instead of bothering to DVR you. All hilariously glorious rapefaces aside, those gems only come along every so often.

So I ask, nay, I beg of you,my beloved anime, this humble question:

WTF?

Why do you torture us like this? Why do you make us rip you apart and titter madly at your weaknesses day in and day out? For the love of God and all that is holy,

WHYYYYYYEEE??!

This is following a, erm, discussion that I had with a gentleman who was insisting that "Bleach" is the best anime he's ever seen. I insisted that, once his meds kicked in, he should try watching more than one anime. I freaking LOVE this show, but... it's bad for the heart.

anime, g33k!@l3rt, bitching
