My Grandma died last night...
Ethel Lillian Anderson, 81, of 1901 Division Street, Marquette, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, November 30, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Anderson was born on March 28, 1927 in Princeton to the late Charles and Ella (Noel) Hutchens and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Gwinn High School and was employed for many years at Sears in Marquette.
Ethel was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo and cribbage, picking blueberries, spending time at camp, watching Tiger baseball, reading and knitting. She was also a volunteer with the RSVP program.
Ethel is survived by three children, Susan (Paul) Zemke of Muskegon, Donald (Kathy) Anderson of Beaver Dam, WI and Karen (Ron) Wuokko of Marquette; grandchildren, Adam Anderson of Sun Prairie, WI, Eric Anderson of Lake Mills, WI, Janet Anderson of Beaver Dam, WI, Holly (Josh) Riley of Twin Lake, MI, Jenny Wuokko of St. Petersburg, FL, Matt Wuokko of Marquette and Kyle Zemke of Muskegon; great grandchildren, Kiryn Zemke, Dylan Anderson, Monica Anderson and Addison Riley; one brother, Leslie (Neggie) Hutchens of Gwinn; sisters-in-law, Doris Hutchens of Gwinn, Phoebe Anderson and Evelyn Baij of Munising; two brothers-in-law, Bill Anderson and Herb Anderson, both of Marquette. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her first husband, Carl Anderson, her second husband, Bill Pearce; also siblings, Bucky Hutchens, Bob Hutchens, Bernice Marjonen, Gladys Wolfe, Dorothy Jordan, and Grace Vanlerberghe.
Funeral services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 12 noon with the Rev. David VanKley officiating. Burial will take place in the Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Adam and Eric Anderson, Matt Wuokko and Kyle Zemke.
Memorials are preferred to the Messiah Lutheran Church Building Fund in Mrs. Anderson's memory, 305 W. Magnetic St., Marquette, MI 49855.
