So I was spring cleaning, and finally got around to tidying up and arranging my books... was surprisingly pleased to see the outcome! :))

I need a bigger cupboard

top shelf: literary fiction, top 17

(in case you can't see, from left to right: An Equal Stillness, The Sweet Hereafter, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Fifth Head of Cerebus, Dune, Speaker for the Dead, Gilead, Pilgrim at Tinker's Creek, Never Let Me Go, An Artist of the Floating World, Remains of the Day, The Resident Tourist (Part 3 & 1), Uncle Tungsten: Memories of a Chemical Boyhood, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Love in the Time of Cholera) of course i fully expect this to change... also take note that this is what I could squeeze into my top shelf. If it was bigger I guess I would have more favourites?

Second shelf: Graphic Novels & Close Top Shelf Contenders.

left to right: Sandman 1-10 (9&10 are on loan), Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Persepolis, Reload Manga, , The Tin Drum, Burmese Days, A History of Love, To Kill A Mockingbird, An Enemy of the People, Middlesex. The top two books are pirated copies of Gone with the Wind, hence the Chinese book title.

Third shelf: non-fiction and second place finishers for top shelf glory

Left to Right: The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, the Historian (actually this would be a top shelfer but it's more thematically appropriate to place it here), 1812: Napoleon's Fatal March on Moscow, Democracy in America, History of Western Philosophy, Alias Grace, the Annotated Lolita, Nocturnes, the Virgin Suicides, Tales from Herodotus.

Fourth (and final!) shelf : fantasy (this is the shelf that made me happy enough to start this haha)

Top Left to Bottom Right:
Good Omens, Fragile Things, Smoke and Mirrors, the Lions of Al-Rassan, the Eye of the World, the Return of the King, the Two Towers, the Fellowship of the Ring, the Hobbit. Sadly I seem to have misplaced my copy of the Silmarillion. and bibliophiles who are gasping at the horrific condition of my LOTR.... well I belong to the camp that says a worn out book is a much read and hence deeply loved book! haha

There you go! My current bookshelf arrangement. I doubt it will last long before I start messing everything up again, but at least for now I'm happy that I have such a system! :)
