Also, you mixed a metaphor, but let me extend it: fields must lay fallow sometimes before they become fertile again. If you work that land way too hard, it loses anything nutritious for what you want to grow.

You make sense. don't worry about the sentence structure. it's a blog. I think there are rules against proper sentence structure for non-commercial blogs. ;)
