...True, but I think he's bitching more about the breach of trust. It's one thing to say "Look, we can't get you this because we gotta get everyone else stuff", and another entirely different thing to say "WE PROMISE we'll get you--oops, no, hard luck mate!"

Why on earth would I expect my parents who taught me about Santa Claus (hypothetical this)
