In my mail, was what I assume is the final issue of Blueprint Magazine, which recently announced it would cease publication. I am really glad I did not renew my subscription! I was pretty disappointed with the mag after a very promising start just over a year ago. I think it failed on one basic level, content! There was none! I would look through one issue in about 5 minutes and never look at it again! Everything in it was just superficial. All the featured items, from cloths to pillows to umbrellas, ridiculously expensive. There was nothing worth reading, at all. Since this is a "lifestyle" magazine, what about profiles, more room make overs (like the one of the editors tiny apartment, one of the few features I found interesting), more real people, instead of models and overpriced handbags!
I did think the design of the magazine was outstanding, I loved all the type faces they used....sad, there was so much potential. What I find interesting, is that there is no mention in this issue of the mag ending and it even includes subscription forms? So beware, do not send them your money, you will likely end up with copies of her Wedding Mag instead... which is suppose to incorporate this one. How will that be useful though to most people who are probably not about to get married?
In other news... I am still struggling with this cold, but slept much better so hopefully it will roll out quickly. I am thinking about playing in this Sunday tourney (I always think about that) I will just see how I feel, it is not till late this afternoon. It is gloomy out but that really makes for a perfect Sunday, to stay under the covers and watch old movies. Right now I am watching "Holiday" with Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn...
