I watched a very interesting film last night about one of England's most famous (or maybe infamous) hangmen, Albert Pierrepoint. So I started researching one of his last assignments, Ruth Ellis and came across this very interesting link. It details all women hanged in England and for what crimes from 1868-1955.

I found this story about Edith Thompson esp interesting...I am fairly certain from all that I read that she was innocent.
