part of my student teaching requirement is a negative test result for tuberculosis. guess who's going to test positive? there's a big fat induration at the injection site where my immune system is responding to the TB bacteria. since i'm pretty darn certain i don't have TB, my guess is that the results are skewed since i was vaccinated against TB back in the USSR.
the test was offered for free through my campus health center. the lung x-ray that i will have to have in order to get a clear for student teaching is not. how annoying.
i haven't been "home" in 21 years. all i have left of "home" is some TB bacteria, a mouth full of metal fillings, and rudimentary language skills.
