I graduated in August of last year. I worked at a Salon for about 9 months. I work a normal job for benefits reasons, but I still rock the hairness on on nights and weekends~
Congrats, I'm sure you can't wait to get your licenses!!!
Wow, my school did it kind of different. Everyone graduates at 1500 hours. So.. depending if you took time off or sick days or baby leave.. brought down your hours. So we each had are own mini graduation in the morning, haha. Then we had one big one held for the year in October.
I work at an office job now and do hair at home(which I actually prefer, haha). I worked at a swank place for 8 months. It had benefits and no defined leveling up to be a stylist. I was an assistant for the whole 8 months. The wonder was a total bitch on top of it(she did some things that I found to be unethical). If you go into an assistant program, which most salons besides the chains, make sure you know how long it takes and what they will teach you!!!!
That's awesome! Way better then what my salon offered. I may go to a salon in the near future. I only want to be part time though. So, I need to look around. I got into crazy colors (check out pravana http://www.pravana.com/ ), they rock in gyaru colors patterns. I also got into braids ( I luv, 'em). I still have a little work on cutting.
