I suppose I ought to stop finding distractions, as entertaining as they might be. Something that this place seems to sorely lacking. I wonder, could it be senility? That would be a terrible shame. (He doesn't sound as if he even slightly believes those words or worries about the fact at all.)

Oh, it would be quite unfortunate if time were forced to wait for everyone. Why, I dare say we wouldn't get a-n-y-where! And in some cases we'd almost certainly be going backwards which is hardly a good idea, I must admit. What is behind always looks far more appealing until you're heading towards it.
