Sorry for a bit of a drive-by comment here, but I believe #7 is a British thing. I wouldn't swear to it, but a British friend of mine uses that all the time and seemed surprised when an American English teacher tried to correct her.

You are so right. But the funny thing is, I'm pretty sure I've only ever seen it in fic--not in pro writing by Brit authors. So I dunno what that means. But it's freaky and weird to me, anyway. YMMV etc. ;)
