Me too. I swear it's the schools. My sister sends the corrected papers my niece and nephew bring home back to the school with the teacher's mistakes corrected. She's very popular. :D
Speaking as a former teacher (abroad) I can say first hand that they're certainly far from infallible. For example, I didn't believe 'esthetician' was a word the first time I heard it. I kinda still don't, actually.
Well, these were mostly grammar, spelling and mistaken apostrophe usage. All things you'd think teachers would have a better handle on. LOL, I thought I was bad being peeved with those things, but my sister chose one campground over another last summer because the loser's web page had misspelled words and misused apostrophes.
