Gone in September

I just send out the notice of cancellation to my landlord.
This flat and I will part at the end of August at the latest.

As I wrote in my last post (a long long time ago....) I'm planning to move in with Stef.
His flatmates are both moving out until the end of June and I'm starting to move in my stuff from next weekend on.
It depends on how quick the two flatmates are clearing out their rooms now. They both had the 20th June in mind for their last day there.
I have a three months notice for my flat so I have plenty of time to help Stef renovating the two rooms and the kitchen. Then we want to move his bed into one of the other rooms. We need a new wardrobe which also will go into the new bedroom.
I'm bringing the whole furniture for the livingroom (means two sofa and a matching stool, a wall system and a matching coffe table. I don't know if I can bring the carpet because it originally belonged to my mom. Maybe she'll want it back.
The degus and the gerbils don't have a place to stay yet. I would like to have the degus in the livingroom again as they are used to it and to tv now. The gerbils can stay in the livingroom too, or in the study, thats not sure yet. Stef sometimes has a very light sleep and I don't want to have them in the bedroom any longer. Not because they stink or they wake me up (which they do sometimes) but I want to have a bedroom as silent as possible.
Thats one of the reasons why we move the bedroom into another room too. Stefs room right now is the most noisy. Not because of the street, no thats right on the other side of the house (where the future bedroom will be), but because of a tree that stands right in front of the balcony. This tree currently inhabits a family of blue tits (two adults two chick) a pair of chaffinches, a pair of greenfinch, several not-yet-paired-up great tits, and a pair of bullfinch. I really love to watch them coming to the feeder Stef has on his balcony, Stef loves to watch them too but he can't sleep when they are starting to concert at around 4.30 in the morning.
So the room with the balcony will become the living room. Much more appropriate if you ask me. It's so nice to open the door and let the afternoon sun flood the room. Why waste it on the bedroom where you don't want to have friends sitting around?
The study is the smallest room. I guess it will be the place for the laptop and pc and all the stuff that is work related. Also I imagine most of the bookshelves there.

The kitchen, well, yes. Right now it is a kind of patchwork diy kitchen. All electrical devices are from different places. Most of them were bought at 2nd hand shops. Doesn't mean they don't work fine. (Well everything works except for the oven). The wall cabinets are from two different kitchens and therefore don't match at all. Doesn't matter much as long as they don't drop onto my head.
But we want to change that bit by bit. This also depends on which stuff the two flatmates are taking with them. As I understand it most of the kitchen stuff belongs to one of them. They all were using it and there never was a problem about it but several things might need replacing. I don't know if I ever need a lemon squeezer but I sure know that I need an electric kettle.

Whew, so much to do. I'm glad that I have three months at the longest to move my stuff from here to there. I hope to get it done much quicker, but that depends on the work situation too.

If I'm able to find a job really quick, I might be gone by mid July. In that case hopefully the estate agent will be able to find a new tenant for my flat soonish. I don't want to pay double rent if I don't have to.

I really hope to find a job. I'm starting the job hunting this week. I have to wait for the pictures and then I'll write my first job applications in ten years. I'm scared and excited at the same time.

quit, new flat jobhunting, stef, moving, new job
