Mine finally arrived today, and I just wanted to do like.. a mini review on the packaging, photobook, purchasing etc etc etc. + a bunch of pictures.
Anyways, I purchased mine on the 30th December, and the album was released on the 5th, and it arrived today(14th).
I was a little confused in the beginning, and I couldn't decide if I wanted to purchase it from yesasia or dvdheaven. But the thing is, yesasia have been really shitty about shipping out their orders lately, so I decided to not order from them. While the price for shipping from dvdheaven is no joke, I just felt a little lost and tweeted about it. A friend, Beck(@eartequality), searched it up and tweeted me about www.kpoptown.com . Their price for the special limited edition + folded poster was around 23 USD, while I chose the one with the unfolded poster(the poster comes in a tube), mine was 26 USD. The cheapest for shipping was 12 USD, which is reeeeeeeeeeeeeally inexpensive because I live in Denmark. They had some more expensive but faster and safer shipping as well. Kpoptown.com counts on their hanteo sales rankings btw :) which is one of the main reason why I ordered from them.
On the 7th January, I get an email saying that it has been shipped, and that I will soon get an email with the url for tracking(which I think is a mistake, because it's cheapest option, there's no tracking on this, so I just ignored the 'url' part).
However, I received an email yesterday that they were moving their hosts, which explains why my shipping confirmation email was late, and they got all mixed up with the url etc.etc.etc.
This is what it looks like;
and this is what it looks like still inside the bubblewrap:
and some stickers I got from kpoptown.com:
and some pictures from the album + photobook :
for more pictures, you can just head over
here .. I made an album on imageshack just for the 14 pictures I took of my photobook.
The pictures are from the high fashion/makeup set, I was a little meh :( because I really liked the ones where they only showed their side-profiles and stuck to earth tone colored stuff(clothing, lighting), but these weren't as bad as I thought.
The pictures where they both are in them, are filled with bromance most of the time, lmao. But there are quite a few of them with the whole ~*siamese twins*~ twins ish feel.. especially the ones where it looks like their heads are connected, idk how to interpret it, all I know is that I don't understand it but w.e.
Some of the shots looks like "behind the scenes" .. There was one where Changmin was on the phone, and they captured it from the back so you can see his reflection in the mirror and the back of his head. There was also a picture of him getting his makeup done...
Changmin's makeup reminds me of a gazelle, his makeup is super white sorta like a mask, with black lines feathered out from his eyes.. and there's one picture where his pose reminds me even more of a gazelle, the gazelle shot isn't this one btw, this is just my favorite solo picture of him:
Yunho's makeup.. idk. But I'm really really really adoring this picture of him, where he is smearing his makeup:
and the next few shots of him are of him smearing his makeup.. Changmin also smear his makeup, and you can definitely see it more as the pictures go on. The first few pages are of them with heavy makeup on, but as you flip through the photobook and get past the smearing part, you can see the streaks created by their fingers(especially) on Changmin.. and it has this really nice feel to it, idk. Really raw, and as if they just shot this while improvising. There's more individual shots of Yunho, I think. I didn't count. And Yunho has a bigger variety of poses in his shots, while Changmin has a stronger gaze.
All in all, I think the general idea behind this album is great. HQ pictures, and all for a reasonable price. And I think this was a smart way of differentiating themselves in the market, since people don't really buy physical copies anymore.
I'm pretty happy about my purchase :)
