...thanks for the reminder.

Why do I need to move out? Hmmm.
The Half-Price Books warehouse in Seattle is having an everything for a dollar this weekend only sale. Mom told me about it around 8:30 this morning, while dad was out walking the dogs. "As soon as he gets back, we'll go," she said. So I get ready to go and settle down with my book in the meantime. An hour later, dad gets home. A half hour later, I go upstairs to see what the holdup is. Mom is still in her pj's and unshowered. Dad is making noises about not even going. I rally the forces and we eventually leave the house a little before noon. Gah!
On the way there, the sun is beating down on my head but the air conditioner gets aimed at stranger and less effective angles whenever mom asks if the breeze is getting me yet. The traffic is a bit slow on the 5, but not before a couple of freeway mergers make me groggy with motion sickness. The warehouse is very busy and is lacking important sections (like RPGs and career guides), but why not, it's all a buck. I got some CDs and some interesting titled books. Back in the car, and it was 1:30 - lunchtime. We're in the city, surrounded by Thai, Greek, Indian, sushi, burgers, hot dogs, cafes, bistros... but of course, none of these will do. We drive for 20 minutes, and where did we end up having lunch? IHOP.
...IHOP, out of all the opportunities for growth, enriching experiences, mom and pop, *local* businesses we could have chosen, we finally stopped at IHOP.
On the drive home, I feel even sicker. Mom drives stupidly. I despise sharp breaking, nervous swerving, and the sheer dumbness to not recognize that when two lanes merge to one and both are moving 5 mph, everyone goes with the "zipper merge" plan - one car from this lane, one from that.
