We had a mother's day dinner at my brother's today, in the conservatory with the doors open. Half way through I looked outside and saw what I thought was a bizarre bird mating ritual. Looked again, pointed it out - mum gasped and said it was a hawk, and as we all looked at it, I realised it had a bird in its talons and it realised we were watching - so it flew away still clutching the bird.
Disturbing. During cubs last week we went on a 'night hike' aka a walk around Willingham and its surrounding fields. During that hour and a half walk, we passed a gutted rabbit, a rabbit with no eyes, and a decapitated rabbit's head. Three rabbits, waiting to be found.
THERE IS ANIMAL DEATH ALL AROUND ME.
Discuss.
