It's no secret that I hate pretty much all of Gossip Girl's horribly photo-shopped promotional collateral. Don't even get me started on the hideousness that are their box-set covers. You'd think they could do something a little more creative than slap a picture and some text on the box. But anyway, I digress... I decided to channel the negative energy around the show in general into something pretty and decided to design what I would like to see as a GG poster.
All of the photos of the cast members are from behind-the-scenes filming pictures, for the record. While the early BTS pictures of Blair in Moschino and Serena in George Chakra is the quintessential "B+S do Paris" picture, it didn't really leave much for me to do in Photoshop. Let's just say I decided to challenge myself. I'm aware that both these outfits weren't even worn in Paris, but they had the perfect poses and the outfits seem to compliment each other, so I went with it.
Interesting fact: I performed a photoshop hair transplant on Blake. If you've seen the BTS pictures, you know her hair was looking particularly haggard and flat and so very un-Blake Lively in that shoot. As for Leighton, can you believe she isn't intentionally posing? Werk it, girl.
I was going to add Vanessa and Katie Cassidy's character but couldn't find HQ BTS pictures and Vanessa's outfits are all too casual looking. Plus, neither of dem bitches were in Paris and this show is about B+S.
For fun though, I decided to make a dude version.
I don't like it as much. This is mostly Nate's fault for having too much ISO in his BTS pictures -shakes fist-. Also, I just got really lucky with finding the perfect Parisian backdrop for the B/S picture... because this one is in perspective, it is a little weird. I don't know how I feel about it on its own but in the context of the B/S poster, I think this one could work.
I hate to put these effing watermarks all over, but unfortunately people can't handle not being douche-bags. The last time I posted ALL of my fan-art onto my journal and linked to it in
blair_chuck, I found a cropped version of one of my manipulations on flickr... and this was before the advent of Tumblr, so you can imagine my paranoia. Well, since it has a watermark, feel free to repost, though it would be really nice to take 5 extra seconds to link back to this journal or post. It took me a lot longer to make.
-crosses fingers- Here's hoping S4 doesn't disappoint!
