Chuck and Larry, John Simm, etc.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb FUN! Teddy Durgin said that Schindler's List had more genuine laughs than Chuck and Larry, and while I agree that Amon Goeth and Itzhak Stern were hysterical at points, I have to disagree. Chuck and Larry was incredibly stupid and seriously offensive, but I've never watched a Happy Madison film for PC humour and so it was fun for me. Also, I have a soft-spot for Ving Rhames.

I've been watching Series 1 of Life on Mars, because apparently I'm into John Simm now. Philip Glenister is so awesome. I've liked him since his Hornblower days. Speaking of Hornblower - what the heck happened to Ioan Gruffudd? He used to be so hot. I see his buddy Damian Lewis has a new show on NBC's fall schedule. If it's decent, it's sure to be canceled.

Finally, my friend gave me the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella to read while traveling. Another friend had warned me that I would feel dumber after reading the series. The opposite happened. The protagonist, Becky Bloomwood, made me feel like a genius in comparison. I wasn't into the series after the first few chapters. In fact, I was planning to bin the whole lot of books until they introduced the character of Luke Brandon, and suddenly I was hooked. Gosh, throw in a Darcy-like romantic interest and I am hooked. So if any of you were thinking about the series, just be warned that at several points you will want to slap and shake the main character and chuck the book out the air-lock at 34,000 feet in the air.

Alright, I'm done rambling without purpose. Later.
