YEa, that what my roommate told me to do (she lived in England for a year and was sending stuff home constantly).
Classes are going really well, I adore my Eurhythmics class (basically iterpretive dance... you conduct with your body and portray the meaning along with the beat by your movements). Right now Im only taking Italian (the complete language) and German diction, but they said next year they were offering German as a language class.
I've finally started a group of friends, YAY, which icludes tight pants boy Adam, too sweet for his own good boy Athan, whacky diva girl Alexandra, equally piano disabled boy (Who wears mutan ninga turtle shirts and has sideburns) Shelby, my crazy cool New Zealand roomy Emma, "a glass of port a day does the body good" boy (who sings like a woman, literally) Johnathan, attractive piano boy (who I met at my auditions...and remembers me)Michael, quiet shy girl (who looks twelve) Jane, and ME!
How are your classes? Are things getting any better yet? I hope so, otherwise I might have to head home and kick some hippy booty. *hugs*
Oh! I want pictures of your friends. The boy with the too tight pants - does he listen to punk or indie music? And does he have an emo bang? And I really want a picture of this cute piano player. Classes just suck. Right now I'm stressed because I am behind in my math and I have a quiz tomorrow. Plus I didn't get todays lesson in Ancient Greece. And I keep taking naps and then I wake up with five minutes to my class and so I have to run to class. Still looking for friends. Its hard because I still don't have friends in my classes. I have made friends sort of with Mina's friends but its not the same. Because I would feel weird calling them up and being lets do something. Do you knwo what I mean? I am making a friend with a guy named Adam who lives on my floor. He is very innocent and is having trouble keeping up with the work load so I am helping him. I'm sort of friends with this other guy on my floor named Rupert but its more based on pranking each other than talking about life. Still need to find a friend here who I can have a good conversation about life and what not. So things are not great for me here. I'm just hoping it gets better but then I think thats what I thought the very first week of orientation and here I am my 3rd week into classes and I'm still hoping. Gagh! I just cant get it out in words right now about how I feel.
lol! the boy with the too tight pants, Adam, isn't really emo or punk so far as I know... he just likes to wear tight pants. lol. Hes kinda got a faux-hawk ... I'll have to ask him about the music. I promise that I'll get a picture of Michael (piano boy) as soon as it doesn't seem like Im being creepy stalkerish by doing so! =D
Im sorry that classes are sucking! I know what you mean about not having friends in classes but I learned something after a miserable week of not talking to people in class; get there early, strike up a conversation with somebody near by (they'll be relieve that somebody finally broke the tension), and then on the way out make sure to say goodbye. The next class they'll remember you and be more likely to chat with you again! Thats how I met half the people I talk to know! Especially Athan! I was having a rough day and it was a movement class were you had to be really outgoing and I was just too tired and moody to try and he came up to me and was just like "Hi! Im Athan, you are? Oh, Im an undergrad too. Where are you from? Don't you hate this sort of thing? I can't wait to sing, what part do you sing?" Just basic questions, but I appreciated so much that he was trying to reach out and start something that I didn't care if they were the same questions I'd heard all week (and then the next day when we talked we discovered our mutual love of musical theater and now we have plans to get together and listen to new musicals and watch Moulin Rouge!!!).
Basically what Im trying to say, in my usual nonsensical way, is that the biggest thing I've learned at college so far is: if you want to have fun, you have to have guts. Be Brave... like LEGOLAS! lol. or... maybe not. lol. like... WILL TURNER *holds pistol at pirate* "you can't" *points it to jaw* "But I can" lol. People appreciate courage...OH! BE A GRYFFINDOR!
Sorry for the rant... lol. I love you and I seriously mean it when I say call me anytime! I have two CDs Im going to send you this weekend! BE EXCITED ! Be VERY VERY excited! lol. One is all one girl, the other is a mix of indie!
PS. Very jealous of your prank mate... that could bring more fun that you could predict. *nods*
