(no subject)
Due to some people PM'ing/emailing me to ask, "Hey, are you planning on doing the Val-Day C/Z event again this year?" I figured I'd drop by and say...
...well, no. Not REALLY. Not the kind that we started, nor how it'd evolved (whether a full-month every-day posting deal or a sekrit-Valentine one). I know it disappoints some, but with the dwindling fandom, problems which seem to grow in numbers every 'season' and my own lack of participation around here with my taking on my own personal writing projects lately (while still trying to get with my fave lads via fic, no worries!) and having to focus a LOT of my attention and time on Gavs (things are okay, just a little more intense lately), I don't feel it'd have the same 'flair'.
It doesn't mean that I'm not around, or that I think the C/Z fandom is dead and not worth having fun in anymore. Definitely not. I know that my long stretches of silence, lack of story-posting/WIP-updating, etc. DOES make it look that way. I won't deny I've lost some faith over time--but I still always, every single day with promises, think of not just fun fic bunnies with the Herrington-folk, but my LJ-folk, people I couldn't fall out-of-love with even if I tried (haven't tested that out ;)). It may be quiet between ALL of us and there's an undercurrent of longing for the 'good ol' days' in nearly every post we make lately, myself VERY much included in that.
But just to make sure the boys don't feel like we've forgotten, we DO need to keep some tradition alive, right? SOOOOooo... instead of making this an organized, super-fannish event--something that can always bring in the fun AND stress for all, at the same time--I'd like to take a page from aliensouldream's book:

Any time on this day, should you feel that olden-days spark of love and life in your C/Z heart which REFUSES to die until it's so dead that it's not even alive anymore, post something full of delicious romance... sexy-times... drunken!C/Z raiding Del's lingerie drawer for whatever devious deeds they must carry out in the name of mischief and/or accidental turn-ons (since when is Zeke not allowed to enjoy how silk and lace feels sliding over his perky lil' nips? I don't recall a rule like that being set in stone. Oh no. Yea, I think that one might work. Oops, I did it again)... whatever it is that lets the LJ-world know that no matter wut-all happens, our lovely lads can still make your fingers fly over the keyboard.
Anything is welcome, encouraged, etc.. Don't feel like writing a story? Quiz everyone on the C/Z fic-world, where you crack open your list of favorite stories over the years and ask "In so-and-so's fic 'Sexeh Time FTW', what color was Gabe's lacy underwear, and what did Casey say when he caught him prancing around in the locker room like a little girl?", or "Which C/Z author wrote 'Zeke Goes Greek (alternately known as 'Yogurt Body Painting')'?"; post some of your favorite screencaps, fanart or real-life actor pics; post a youtube vid of yourself singing your fave song from 'The Faculty' soundtrack (you know you want to, now's your chance!); just TALK about them either as a write-up, voice-post or youtube vid, where you go over your memories in the fandom, your fave stories, give props to fave authors, talk about what KIND of fic you love, start a discussion as to what kinks get ya hawt, etc. :)
As this day is dubbed, 'Anything Goes'. I don't doubt that nearly every C/Z-girl still alive and kicking around these parts would find it too hard a task to at least make a gushy, lovey and ultra-rambly contribution, amirite? Iamrite. :)
It doesn't HAVE to be posted in the cz_valentines community, but as long as you don't mind a link-listing there where I post whatever contribution, all's well. No real rules, no real pressure--the only thing I ask is that if you're even just considering posting on that day, comment to this post or the post I'll eventually throw-up in the community some time soon saying so. It'd be cool, kick-starting our engines together here, chatting about the boys, going over ideas, etc. Comments are NOT screened, so don't think you can tell me your deepest, darkest C/Z desires without anyone else seeing 'em.
But don't feel like you gotta hide. We're ALL dirty-minded, pervy girls here. No shame. ;)
