High points of the holiday:

--Fellow LotR geek bro Tom giving me the clue, 'They're taking the hobbits to Isenguard!' for his gift of $50 in gold presidential coins, lol. Geek, as I said, and since he's come into some fortune getting assistance and is no longer *homeless*, he's been wanting to give back lots to everyone who's helped/been there. HIS gifting, I didn't mind. He does it for the right reasons.

--Knocked out my nephew's loose tooth whilst me and my step-niece wrestled with him on the couch. Pics to come.

--Same nephew enjoying the cheapest gift evar, the set of stick-on mustaches we gave him. He gave himself unibrow and Elvis-esque sideburns.

--Getting to hang with my bro J's fiancee and her preggo belly baking my next nephew. Not so bitter anymore. :)

--Gavs insisting on leaving for Yaya's in his new hat, gloves and skull-printed robe. Again, pics later.

--Going to my stepmother's. That gets its own solid mention.

--Getting my step-GREAT-yaya's absolute, 100% seal-of-approval for my baklava, her devouring a piece and moving on to try and feed some to everyone around her (I've mentioned her undying urgency to stuff food into people's mouths while mashing Greek and English together). The honor in this alone is immense. :D

--LMAO with my bro and sis over 'doing the laundry'. Sorry, I'm leaving that one as cryptic.

--SEEING my hermit brother to begin with.

--Showing my Meme the stuff I found on ancestry.com, with her name on immigration papers and a picture of the Santa Paula, the ship she came in on. She declared, "It's a miracle!"

--Finding out from my stepmother that my father worked on the Hubble telescope, and how he has a certificate of thanks from NASA. First his heart attack, now this--he tells me nothing. I actually cried.

--Talking religion, politics, and good memories, with stepmom telling sis and her friends how I'd once given my baby brother my eggs when he threw a fit over waiting for HIS, lol. Hadn't remembered that.

--My sis' bff interrupting my story about my working as a tarot reader at my friends' store to tell me that when they were in sixth grade, sis called her and said, "I have to tell you a secret--you can't tell anyone! My sister is a witch!!" which bff wrote in her DIARY, LMAO.

--Having serious, deep conversations about life in general, which made everyone cry, then realizing it was 11:30.

--Coming. Home.

Hope you all had a great holiday! Off to bed soon, this is ridiculous.

fam-fun, good ol' days, love, good day
