I'm currently sitting outside the plaza I always write into C/Z fic, charging my laptop and phone in the fucking-shit cold whilst sitting in a broken chair and riffing off of someone's connection. We saw lights and signs on on the way home and hoped WE had power, but no; but we knew of the outdoor outlet outside the old ice cream shop here, because Pan used to plug in speakers and practice his bass playing in the middle of the night, lol.
ION, my town is probably declared as a disaster area. Trees and power lines are down on every single street, houses/cars/etc. destroyed and in getting gas at one of the old time, not-modern pumps after waiting in a long-ass line for about a half an hour, I got to see people fighting, yelling and freaking out in general. It is bad. Probably the worst I've seen this town, and that's counting the tornado. We went to my parents to help my dad clear the tree-shit that went all over the yard (the house was spared, but barely) and power lines were mere feet above the car as we drove down. Trees blocked two out of three ways to their street. I'm a little freaked out with the fact that the food in our fridge and freezer is pretty much on its way out (though Pan's using the cooler and snow in an attempt to save it), but since our area was hit the least (at least when it comes to power lines, trees are down like mad) I'm hoping power's restored soon. I had to take a freezing-cold shower this morning. And fuck, it is cold right NOW. I'm gonna be here a bit. Cars are stopping and staring at me, and I'm paranoid about cops, but oh fucking well! We're in a state of emergency, so fuck y'all!
And what was I freaked out about most? Not being able to post my Halloween fic, LOLZ! But I'm gonna hit post here and quick-like-a-bunny, post my contribution. It's more appropriate to post it the day before Halloween, anyway. So yea, we're alive and healthy... just kinda in limbo.
Edit: Two of my co-workers and a friend of theirs just dropped in on me, wondering what the hey I was doing here. Lol. This is nuts.
