Looks like everyone's enjoying their holiday! Even as a dirty ol' non-believer, I'll take any excuse for the Lit-kielbasa and candy. ;)

This year, it was more up to us. With the sitch between BOTH of my brothers (one not being around anyway, spending it with his fiancee's fam), my parents kinda said 'Fuck it, we're going out to the Ren Faire.' I couldn't blame them too much; they've always hosted it, us not being able to with the lack of room (and mess). So we've never had any big lunch or dinner affair ourselves, 'twixt both sets of our parents hosting it all.

So I was bummed-out, but I figured, "Well... it's just me, Pan and Gavs, so like heck if we can't do something with just us." The place has been an ultra-mess lately, so I had a minor flip-out last night when it came time to decorating eggs and the table was a disaster. But Pan cleaned it up nice and things settled. Eggs were dyed then badly decorated with glitter and sequins from our kit.

Basket for my babe... we're usually not as astute or make plans that aren't last-minute, but we set him up nice after being paid Friday. And we already had the egg dye, another thing we always manage to leave out 'til we have our "OH SHI-" moment.

Gavs enjoyed it, o' course. We had the duck from 'Wonder Pets' already, but I picked up the other two Friday. And a squishy, sticky tomato toy. :D Plenty of candy, and Pan threw in bubbles, funky candy-toys and jellerbeans.

I'd also gone to the Polish Deli and Fruit Palace. Only a few people carry Lithuanian kielbasa, and only on Chrimbo and Easter, but the deli has it year round. Most of you have heard about my torrid, deep-seated love affair with it. I bought four links and put it in this morn (takes three hours to cook; it's pure spiced and peppered sausage, unsmoked, needs the extra love). Pan thought we didn't have enough to make a meal as we haven't done food shopping yet, but I said 'nut uh' and made a mish-mashed but filling, lishus feast.

Our own personal Easter-lunch. With our lack of space/constant string of messes, we rarely have a sit-down dinner together. Just the way it works. But we shoved rain-damaged lawn chairs at the table, sat and enjoyed. We're not super-dirt-poor-total-suffering, but we ain't anywhere near rich. We hafta settle for a lot, but I'd rather have THIS sort of thing than a big to-do. I always hated formal fam-dinners. :)

So there it is, our nice start to Eastering. We're supposed to go to Pan's 'rents, but that's always kinda up-in-the-air with last minute cancellations. But we've had a nice time and plan on having a nice, fun day.

I'll be writing an Easter!fic idea I had and plan to post before I go. :) Love ya guys!

holidayz, gavs, good day, fun-stuff
