(no subject)
Went to a wedding shower for our neighbor's granddaughter (THAT family, the one I can never explain without losing an eye, LOL. Cool peeps, just LOTS of 'em). One of the grandson's, J., sat next to me, even though in his words, he didn't belong there because "I have a penis." *snort* He just came for the food, he said. Good food it was! I had to force myself to say, "I'm not hungry anymore. Really, I'm not," even if the buffet was still calling out to me.
Lotsa fun. Talked about Lij (J. thought he was handsome, and his mom asked his sis/her daughter A., "Don't you think Elijah Wood would make a great boyfriend for him??" And he WOULD. They'd be cute togetha, LOL!), our night of astronomy (where we saw Andromeda, Jupe and his moons, the Pleiades, etc. through the scope), and made the traditional hat out of the gift ribbons, paper, what not for the bride-to-be to wear.
Back to astronomy, Gavs had gone with us on our stargazing trip and really liked it. He loved looking at Jupe. So now, he's been asking for 'Cosmos'. He gets a bit disappointed if the episode doesn't talk about planets, but he loves Sagan's voice. It started last night when I went to put in a show for him; lately, if I ask, "What do you want to watch?" he says, "All done!" like he doesn't wanna watch anything. He's been a bit weird like that. But if I go to the DVD player and start to put something in, he asks for something. So when I went to put ANY-thing in (needed the noise), he said, "Stars... Carl Sagan?" My heart leapt! :D
And my cousin linked me to this. Some mean humor, but imho, pretty deserved. At any rate, it's given me plenty o' bunnies... but damn, I gotta get back into Geek. Will do today.
