We just got home from our Halloween--I'm going to read the awesome set of drabbles that were put up today, but I'm seriously, seriously shaken right now. Our Halloween was great, but only a few blocks away from our party, a woman and her son were hit by a car and killed while trick-or-treating. This happened only about a half a mile away from us where we went and at the same time, with Gavs, my nephew and my brother's girlfriend's daughter. If you watch the video, it pretty much paints a picture of speeding, if not worse, being the main contributor. We didn't know that it'd happened until later, when a guy at our party got a call from his girlfriend who works at the hospital (also able to be seen from my mom's house, just stepping out onto the road). Judging by the area, we could know these people easily, being that this is between our house and my parents'--but no one knows who it was yet.

I don't want to be a downer, but if people can send warm thoughts and love this family's way, that'd be wonderful. I couldn't live in the inner city. The boy who was killed at the sportsman's club's funeral was today--having THIS heap right on top of it, all coming from our small town feels awful.
