Cold. The room was cold. Ice cold.
She stared out of the window. It was cold and missing it, him.
It was silent, too. No happy barking, no guitar sounds, no happy laughing. Nothing.
She turned and sat on the couch. Turned on the TV just because. Her favorite show was on but she didn’t feel like watching it. It wasn’t only a show she watched, no, it was a show they watched. Together, laughing at the stupid things the guest and hosts talked about, with the dog barking as background-music.
Sighing she switched the TV off again. It just was no fun. Before she met him it didn’t matter that she watched it alone but now it did. Now it was just boring without him there.
She shivered and snuggled deeper into his sweater. It smelled like him but it was missing his warmth. It was also cold. Just like the room. Ice cold.
She wished she didn’t have to be ill. Have a stupid cold and stay home. She actually liked staying home but only if his dog was there, too. Or he. That was even better.
Standing up she aimlessly wandered around the apartment. It was small. A living-room, a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, a balcony. That’s it. Nothing more nothing less.
For some people it may be too small but for her, them, it was just right. Just enough space for his guitars, his equipment, her piano, the dog.
She loved it with all her heart and if she could she would never give it up. Always have it be their little place, theirs. And even though she loved it, at the moment she loathed it because he was gone, the dog was gone and it was cold.
She ended up in the kitchen and decided to make some Curry, one of his favorite foods. Taking out all the ingredients from the different cupboards she started. Cooking always calmed her, even though she may not be the best at it. She wasn’t a cook after all. Just a waitress at a lovely small café and a piano-player who sometimes played on big stages.
She switched the radio in the kitchen on and one of their songs was on: the beautiful name. She hummed along and even sang a little bit. Chopping the vegetables she cut herself in her pinky. Gasping she laid the knife down and sucked the finger into her mouth while walking to the bathroom where the band aids where stored.
Stupid, Hiro. She muttered under her breath. I told him to add some to the kitchen but no, he has to forget it. Idiot.
Quickly cleaning the cut and putting a band aid on she returned to the kitchen and the vegetables. Again humming to the beautiful name she added the vegetables into a pot and waited for the curry to finish.

When it was done she put it on a plate, waiting for it to cool so that she could wrap it before placing it in the fridge. She slowly started cleaning the kitchen after it had cooled down and she put it in the fridge when she heard a key turn in the lock.
A happy bark and a whirlwind of white greeted her when she turned. Smiling she bent and pet it. It nuzzled its muzzle against her hand before bouncing of to another part of the apartment.
Tadaima. He stood in the door, watching her, a smile on his lips.
Okaeri. Smiling back she waited for him to start walking over before she took a step towards him. They met in the middle, one hand reaching for the other. Pressing together a soft exchange of words happened with their lips caressing each other.
I missed you.
Me, too. I also missed me.
Idiot. A thump was heard when her hand hit his arm
Just kidding. I missed you, too. He pressed a soft kiss against her lips before tugging her close, almost right into him.
Sighing she cuddled even closer if that was possible.
I made you Curry. It’s in the fridge. Her words were muffled against his sweater.
Mmhmm. Thank you. He buried his nose in her hair, smelling her shampoo that always reminded him of a warm spring day.
Letting go of her and he went to the fridge to retrieve his dinner.
Mogu! Food! She took the dog food from the counter and filled his bowl. Mogu came, happily barking and devoured his food.
He put the Curry in the microwave and put the timer on two-and-a-half minutes. While waiting for it to announce his dinner was ready he watched her tolling around with Mogu. When the microwave started beeping he took his Curry, smiling, and followed them into the living-room, sitting down on the couch.
She sat down next to him and took the remote for the TV, switching it on. A repeat from an old episode of their favorite series was running.
Watching it they joked around, laughing and with Mogu’s barking as background-music.
Warm. Finally the room was warm again.
