Tutorial # 2: Kyle XY (Matt Dallas), new header & mood theme
Hey I'm back! Well you can see it I made some changes in my LJ, a new header & a new mood theme both of Supernatural my new passion, the credits are in my userinfo.
And now a new & easy tutorial not I'm lying to you isn't easy what kind of adjective we can use to say more than easy? Is summer I don't wanna work a lot & you?
The base is from
dont_be_so_base I told you I don't wanna work a lot XD the tutorial is made in Photoshop CS2 but is translatable.
From
to
1. Crop your base and sharpen or do whatever you usually do.
2. Make your base a layer (fast way -> double click on your base) Now your base (background) is layer 0
3. Erase the background of your base. For me the way more easy to do it is click ZOOM a few times & with the LASSO TOOL select & erase the background little by little. My settings are FEATHER 1px & ANTI-ALIAS SELECTED
**OPTIONAL** When I erased the background I left a small white line bordering the silhouette. I like the effect.
4. Take this desaturated texture
made by
iris_elegance rotate it 180º & paste it UNDER your base (layer 0) is not necessary but I set it to LINEAR BURN 100%
5. Create a new layer on top of your base (layer 0) & type your text. The font used is ABUSE in white.
6. Now press the right button of your mouse on your text layer & go to blending options. There select STROKE. My settings are SIZE 3px, POSITION OUTSIDE, COLOR BACK.
7 Done! Flatten image.
