We visted Hamptom Court Yesterday and the tower of London, plus The Wallace Collection today.
I consider myself so luck to have seen some of the most beautiful artwork, architechture and gardens in the world.
Mike has written a very good account in his blog
http://millsyukhols.blogspot.com/ But I'll add a few things of my own.
Looking at the artwork in the Wallace collection almost made me cry. The talent that those artists have is unbelieveable and I was not only overwhelmed by it's visual delights, I was swamped by a feeling of regret that I would never be that good (but then I've never attended a French art school either ... or any art school at all for that matter). I just couldn't believe I was seeing these masterpieces with my own eyes ... God help me if I ever make it to the Louvre.
I also got chills in the tower of London ... not because of it's ominous history but because of the auspiciousness of the occaisions the jewells represented (I'm not even sure if that is a real word or a proper sentence, but I can tell you I was touched by the atmosphere.
We didnt sleep the best last night. I think it will be more Melatonin tonight again. I've walked so much that my legs are a bit achey but maybe the physical exercise will have tired me enough to drift off. I might actually lose weight if it wasn't for the copious amounts of food I've been eating at meals.
